About GlassFiles
GlassFiles opens and extracts seven archive formats: ZIP, RAR (versions 4 and 5), 7Z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TAR.BZ2, and TAR.XZ.
It is free. GlassFiles Pro, a one-time in-app purchase, adds batch extraction and background extraction.
Troubleshooting
An archive will not open
GlassFiles opens the seven formats above. It identifies an archive from its contents rather than its file extension, so a supported archive with an unusual name still opens; other formats are not supported.
Split RAR archives are detected automatically when their parts are named .r00, .r01, and so on, or .part1.rar, .part2.rar, and so on.
Extraction stops or fails
Extracting needs enough free storage for the extracted files. Check available space in Settings > General > iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage).
Make sure you have the latest version of GlassFiles from the App Store.
Purchases and refunds
Purchases are made through the App Store and belong to the Apple Account that made them.
For a refund or a problem with a charge, use Apple’s Report a Problem page (reportaproblem.apple.com); refunds are handled by Apple.
